Art Therapy Group
Facilitated by Claire Edwards, Art Therapist and Senior Mental Health Social Worker.
Young Women 14-18yrs
Group of 6 to 9 participants
Before every period of significant personal growth comes a period of self-doubt and deconstruction. Recovery is like the phoenix rising from the ashes, a new you forged in the wisdom that comes with surviving tough times. Putting yourself back together requires self-compassion, self-forgiveness, creativity, and openness to new beginnings and change. Change is scary, pondering the big questions like “who am I?”, “where do I belong?”, “what’s the meaning of all this suffering?”, and “where to from here?” can be confronting, but necessary for healing. This group allows a safe space for young women to literally put their fragile parts back together and experience themselves in a different way. Being with others at similar crossroads means they are not alone on this journey in searching for a self that is worthy of compassion, recovery, and happiness.
