Senior Mental Health Doctor
Dr Judy Draper graduated from the University of Queensland in 1977. In 2007, she completed a Master of Psychotherapy in Family Therapy . She has over 30 years of experience of working in child and youth mental health. Over this time, she has gained considerable expertise in a range of mental health conditions in both primary aged children and adolescents. She never ceases to be impressed by the resilience of families and young people.
Dr Draper has experience in managing the following problems:
- Anxiety disorders
- Grief and loss
- A range of emotional and behavior disorders
- Mother – daughter relationship problems
- Family difficulties
While being very respectful towards young people and their families, Dr Draper believes that humor and playfulness can be very helpful in the work that she does.
Dr Draper likes to involve parents as much as possible in the management of their child/adolescent ‘s problem. She recognizes that parents are often best positioned to help their child with their difficulties and play a very important role in their child/adolescent’s recovery. She looks forward to meeting and working with families at the clinic.
