Clinical Psychologist And Clinical Neuropsychologist
Dr. Michele Andrews is a registered Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist. She has a background in assessment and treatment of varied client groups. Her previous positions in the public sector included: Clinical Neuropsychologist in the Neurosciences unit of Princess Alexandra Hospital, Clinical Psychologist and Neuropsychologist for the Park Centre for Mental Health, and Clinical Psychologist at the Alcohol and Drug Assessment Unit in Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Michele provides a range of services, including clinical psychology, psychological and neuropsychological assessments, and clinical supervision.
Psychological and Neuropsychological Assessment Services
Intellectual (IQ) Assessment
- An intellectual assessment is useful for young people who are suspected of having an intellectual impairment or intellectual giftedness. This would also form part of a learning disorder assessment.
- A comprehensive learning disorder assessment will usually take 4 to 5 hours and investigates academic skills including reading, writing, mathematics and language skills, as well as selected cognitive skills including memory and attention. Academic assessment is useful for young people who are suspected of having a Specific Learning Disorder (e.g. Dyslexia).
Neuropsychological assessment is a comprehensive assessment of various cognitive skills/functions usually taking 4 to 6 hours. This assessment examines varied cognitive functions including, memory, attention/concentration, speed of information processing, language skills, visuospatial skills, and reasoning and problem solving skills.
Neuropsychological problems can arise from many factors, including:

Michele is an accredited STAP supervisor, and is available for clinical supervision of provisionally registered psychologists, fully registered psychologists, and other allied health professionals.
