Medical Doctor
Dr Kara is currently on leave.
Dr Kara Boyle Bsc (Hons), MBBS, FRACGP, graduated from Griffith University Medical School in 2014, after she realised that a career in science research wasn’t as exciting as she hoped it would be. Dr Kara completed her Specialist General Practitioner training in March 2019. Through both her time in hospital and beyond Dr Kara has gained further experience in psychiatry, paediatrics, emergency and rural medicine, indigenous medicine, and refugee medicine.
She has worked in the Logan region for 5 years now and by no coincidence, has always found neurodivergent patients a joy to care for. And also that they seemed to like her too…
It should have been no surprise when, only a few years ago, Dr Kara was diagnosed as neurodivergent herself. She has since learned/is still learning to embrace her ADHD-ness, and loves bringing the atypical skills and talents of a neurodivergent brain to her consults. Dr Kara is uniquely placed to understand the challenges of living in a neurotypical world.
Dr Kara has always been a big picture thinker with an enthusiasm for learning about how the world works. Before medicine, Dr Kara studied Physics and Neuroscience at UQ. She has always had a mind for problem solving, out of the box thinking and logic.
Dr Kara grew up in the Northern Rivers, a country gal at heart and a nature lover. She loves music and plays guitar, piano, and sings. She enjoys photography and travel, and she has even snowboarded quite a bit without breaking any bones… yet. She has a cat/master – a Russian Blue x called Billie. Dr Kara is proudly queer and LGBTIQ+ friendly.
Dr Kara is very excited to start working at the Kooky Clinic and is keen to assist other neurodivergent brains and their families to navigate the neurotypical world more easily.
