Dr Anderson is in the process of completing the final stages of her studies to become a fully qualified psychiatrist, and has many years of experience working in the mental health sector.
She was raised in Izmir, an Aegean metropole in Turkey, acquiring her medical training in Istanbul and Vienna.
Dr Anderson has been practising medicine in Australia since May 2003. During this time, she has acquired a wide exposure to emergency medicine, obstetrics and general practice. She is an approved deputy general practitioner.
She has been practising psychiatry since December 2011. Dr Anderson has completed additional training in psychotherapies. She holds a special interest in understanding the individual in the context of systems and the role of relational trauma in shaping the individual. She values highly a holistic, person-centred, recovery oriented approach that cultivates autonomy, agency, freedom of choice and respect for diversity.
She is able to provide assessments and treatment for a wide variety of mental health related concerns in adults and adolescents, in a trauma-informed approach. This includes, mood and trauma-related disorders and trans-cultural psychiatry.
