Dr Shannon Morton

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

This winter, Dr Shannon Morton, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, is hitting the conference circuit to share our plans for collaborative neurodevelopmental services across Australia. By sharing the lessons learned in the development of our Hype model of care, Dr Morton aims to empower GPs with effective, technology-driven, and evidence-based solutions for assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex paediatric mental health concerns.

On July 26th is the 2025 AADPA Conference in Sydney, where Dr Morton will present Messy, Magnificent & Meaningful: Lessons from a Lived Experience-Led ADHD Health Service. Bringing the mayhem as a neurodivergent psychiatrist, she will share key insights from the frontline working within an ADHD health service where the majority of the team members have lived experience of ADHD and/or autism. The team includes GPwSI’s, Paediatricians, Psychiatrists and Administrative staff.

From there, we head to the West Moreton GP Symposium at Brookwater Golf Club for GP Update: ADHD. Having recently merged with Cub Care and health tech entrepreneurs, the team are now experimenting with AI to support GPwSI-led models of care to address the specialist bottleneck and geographical hurdles, with the dreamy goal of dramatically improving access to high quality, cost effective, earlier intervention, no matter where one lives in this large country.

Finally, we head to Rural Medicine Australia 2025 (RMA25) in Perth, for What's all the Hype? Innovations in GP-led ADHD and Neurodivergent Healthcare, a practical workshop supporting improved health outcomes for Western Australia's rural, remote and First Nations communities.

Whether GPs decide to incorporate the Hype model of care within their own practices or simply refer patients to our clinic, Dr Morton’s goal is to foster stronger networks, enhance service delivery, and bring sustainable mental health care solutions all across Australia.
